‘CANALLA. El pom de dalt’ premieres on the Local Audiovisual Network channel

The documentary closely follows the journey of the children who form part of the “pom de dalt” —the smallest group in a castell team, who climb to the upper levels of the human towers— and explores how these boys and girls from the Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls, Castellers de Vilafranca, and Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona experience and grow within the casteller tradition. The film delves into how they acquire values such as effort, teamwork, and fear management, while facing both technical and emotional challenges.

The advance screening gathered over 150 people and demonstrated the public’s interest in the subject and the film’s sensitivity. This work highlights the human richness of the casteller tradition and opens the door to a new perspective on the youngest participants who, with courage and determination, take on a central role in one of the most emblematic community practices in Catalonia.
