Ainhoa, that's not me
Documentary
Dir. Carolina Astudillo
2019
Status: In distribution

Ainhoa committed suicide in 2006. She was 34 years old. Her family recorded everything. Even telephone conversations. In her personal diaries, Ainhoa wrote down much of her intense and tumultuous life: love disappointments, drugs, personal conflicts… These writings show a sensitive person, completely different from the punk girl her friends remember, or the nice girl from the family movies. Who was Ainhoa actually? What experiences did she have and which ones does she have in common with many other women? What led her to commit suicide?
This documentary is a letter addressed to Ainhoa and the women who write about their experience, as well as a demand for creation as a means of exploration and resistance.
